Anniversary Edition Animations

I stumbled upon a few of these and I thouhgt I'd post them. I must say though I thought the third one was rather unfortunate...and random.

That graph is nowhere near as good as the one from Crystal's TRA, and the T-Rex looks absolutely cheap. Or was this that project that was supposed to be for PSP only?
At any rate, one thing I definitely missed in Crystal's TRA was that underwater lever. I hope they'll return...

PSP? This was Core Design's Anniversary Edition for PS2, in an attempt to resurrect the olden days. If it isn't obvious enough, Core design is nothing without Eidos in next gen stuff :D ...Legend and Underworld, anyone?

Comments from the Hobbit ;-)

Video 1: I liked the green 'bomb' things. They look like they could have fun. I also like the lever - pull it down and swing on it. Interesting concept. The sliding indicates fun puzzles :) The swimming looks a bit bumpy/rough, though. :rofl at Lara's plait though - always straight!
Video 2: I love the concept of this cut-scene! And Lara hiding behind the tree. The backdrop also looks quite fun, lol.
Video 3: Cool spider!!!!!!!!! Poor Lara, but awesome idea, nonetheless

EDIT: on a related topic, doesn't this look like fun? Me want!!

Why on EARTH did they cancel that PSP version????? It looks so awesome! I can understand about them wanting to bring it out on the other platforms as well, but they should have kept that PSP version... Idiots. :(

Again, it was PS2 not PSP. Second, they no longer have the rights to Tomb Raider since they were fired which is why it wasn't released.

Yes it was PSP. They later announced it for PS2 and PC as well, but originally it was PSP.

the animations may be ok, the graphics suck!
giving the whole thing to crystal was the best thing they could do.

Might I reiterate that the animations are from Core Design? Obviously the graphics aren't going to be great - reasons be that they're animations and that they never had the best graphics for games. Have you played the previous Tomb Raiders before Legend? The graphics for their time were pretty good, but compared to today's life, it's pretty rubbish.

I doubt that Core would waste time (providing the company still exists) using the best graphics ever in the history of high definition just to show what their game WOULD have looked like.
