No, I don´t think so...Eidos changed from core to crystal dynamics...
These pics afre from the cancelled (is tjis the right word?) core anniversary edition, which should come out for PSP in the year 2006...
The game should've come out to the real 10th anniversary of Tomb Raider in November 2006.
It was developed for PSP and PS2 and probably for PC, too.

It's a shame Eidos and Core couldn't make the graphics like that in the previous games, considering what they can do now.....

I haven't played anniversary, but from the screens this version looks different - but i wouldn't say better. I would rather that they made a new episode more similar to the older games for the anniversary, rather than remake the first.
Seems like you don't know very much about Core's AE.
It was much more a remake than Crystal's TRA.
Core Design used the original TR1-Level-Maps. They updated them a bit and made them looking better.
They didn't delete any room of the original game.
They only added new ones (they even added a whole new ending-level).
They changed the puzzles so that it wouldn't be just like a replay of the original for somebody who had played it.
It was one hell of a remake!

True. I must admit though, the Legend gameplay controls were a lot easier to adapt to and to learn. But I've not played any Tomb Raider games for a while. I have them all, I just haven't been playing them.
Going back on topic, =), I enjoyed the Anniversary game so I'm not one to judge, but I would have loved to see Core's version in action.

I also think that Core's Anniversary Edition would be much better than CDs Anniversary. Those few pics and the trailer remind me of the good old Tomb Raider games.

Wow. Crystal and Core's screenies look quite similar to me, although Core's is darker (as has been mentioned)
I would have preferred Core to make the remake (and maybe future remakes...?) and let Crystal get on with the new stuff.
Having said that though, I think Crystal's movements were a bit better (i.e. Legend versus AOD) - AOD was a bit blocky and sticky, not as fluid and the grabbing surfaces had problems with the "more then 4 directions" (the "block" movements -forward, back, left, right) controls. Crystal definitely got that right.
