Having trouble with PS2 version, after killing the centaurs

I am so stuck. I am playing in the PS2 version. I kill the centaurs ok, (sort of) then there is a short cut scene where Lara joins the 2 pieces of the scion together. Next thing I know, the loading screen shows, and then the screen greys out.

I thought it had frozen, but when I pause the game (start key), I get the pause menu, without the option to load or save.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so can you tell me how to carry on, coz those centaurs are AWFUL, and I've fought them at least 7 times now, to try and get past this bit.

I read your post in the Tomb of Tihocan thread. I'm not sure it was positively necessary to create a new thread, but I'm sure tombraidergirl will be of the best help.
